A True Meeting - Poetry
61
You know me as a Dane in Spain - but my real name is Dorte Holm Jensen.
I have been writing poetry in my mother tongue, which is Danish, since I was 12 years old. I even published a collection of poems years back...but now finally - I am coming out of the "Poetry-Closet" in English.
A True Meeting
As see-through
as newly polished glass
is your well-arranged facade
failing to hide your unspoken cry
for acceptance
As loud
as raindrops on a tin roof
is the sound of frozen tears
rattling against each other
in your silence
As sharp
as needles through the skin
is the awareness
that I am equally
transparent to you

Hi, A Dane in Spain, GREAT read. Amazing wording. Voted all but FUNNY. You touched me with this poem. Reminds me of a few meetings I had back in my youth. Ahhh, youth. The illusive fog that deceives and then takes the next breath out. I am so sorry that I havent been around that much to visit with you. Ive been getting as many projects done before my health worsens. I DO VALUE you as my follower and distant friend. You are a superb writer. And I wish for you and yours, a Merry Christmas.
